Electrode Structuring via Carbon Nanotubes and Nafion Ionomer–Coated TiO2 Enhances the Durability of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells Under Carbon Corrosion Conditions (Small 33/2025)

In article number 2409650, Jong Hyun Jang, Hee-Young Park, and co-workers describe a highly durable electrode design for heavy-duty proton exchange membrane fuel cells, visualized through three hydrogen-powered trucks. The rear truck depicts a conventional electrode, while the middle truck features an electrode reinforced by structural additives instead of a new catalyst. The front most truck shows the electrode after degradation testing, with a thunder effect symbolizing carbon corrosion. Notably, the electrode evolves into a textured and reinforced structure, maintaining structure and improving mass transport.
